Aquatic Group Classes
The YMCA of the USA has offered the finest set of aquatic programs available to all with the instructions geared through Guided Discovery, where children learn water skills. Each child can learn at their own pace from an infant's first exposure in a Parent/Child class to the competition of the Swim Team. YMCA Aquatics provide opportunities for each child to learn YMCA values, water safety, and swimming skills.
WATER FITNESS
These are open to adult members free of charge and a small fee for
non-members. All participants must pre-register at the front desk
monthly. All classes work to improve flexibilty, muscular strength and
circulation. No swimming skills are required unless taking Deep Water
Toning.
Water Walk:
Class participants walk to music at different speedswhile toning the upper body. Classes are offered Tuesday and
Thursday mornings.
Warm Water Arthritis:
Classes are offered Monday, Wednesday andFriday
Aquacise:
These classes are for all fitness levels. Classes areoffered Monday through Saturday mornings as well as Monday and
Wednesday evenings.
Deep Water Toning:
These classes are held only in the deep end.Flotation belts are available. Classes are offered Monday,
Wednesday, and Friday mornings.
Arthritis Aquatics:
A nationally recognized program taught under thedirection of the Arthritis Foundation. All classes are held in the shallow
end of the pool. This class is offered Monday, Wednesday, and
Friday in the morning and afternoon.
Lap Swim (ages 13 and up):
This is a time in the pool donated toswimming laps. Lane lines will be put in. This is for swimming laps
(ONLY) not for recreational swimming.
Adult Rec.:
Fun time in the pool for adults only. Must have a collegeor adult membership. Only one lane is permitted during this time.
Open Swim:
A fun time in the pool for all Y members. All childrenunder the age of 7 must be directly supervised by an adult who must
also accompany the child/children in the pool, as there are no floats
permitted in the pool. there will be no lane line permitted during this
time.
Family Swim:
A time reserved in the pool for parents and theirchildren. Parents are required to be in the water with their children. No
unaccompanied children of any age will be allowed in the pool during
this time.
